Tax days plus visa days
TaxBird describes itself as a tax-residency tracker. iReside counts tax days and visa days from one GPS history: the Schengen 90/180 rule across all 29 countries, stay limits for any country, and residency or citizenship clocks, each with alerts and a leave-by date. The US Substantial Presence Test and the UK Statutory Residence Test day thresholds are counted live.
A web dashboard for you and your accountant
iReside's web dashboard shows your full record in any browser, which is easier for a year-end review than a phone screen. TaxBird's website and App Store page do not mention web access.
Price
TaxBird's App Store listing shows $39.99 a year or $4.99 a month. iReside is $34.99 a year or $3.99 a month after a free trial. The gap is small; pick on features and platform.

In the iReside app
Your days, counted for you
The dashboard shows the days you have spent in each place this year and how close each tracker is to its line, counted from your iPhone's location.
What TaxBird does well
- Runs on Android as well as iPhone
- Covers New York City, Canadian provinces and countries, not just states
- Planned travel for projected day counts
- A 30-day free trial, per its App Store listing
iReside is best for
- People who track tax residency and a visa limit, like Schengen, at the same time
- Anyone who wants the US Substantial Presence Test or UK SRT day thresholds counted live
- Reviewing the year on a computer through the web dashboard
iReside is not a fit if
- You use Android (iReside is iPhone only)
- You only need a basic US state day count and already pay for TaxBird
- You want tax advice: iReside counts days, it does not give advice
